This course is a continuation of Chinese 2. It introduces more vocabulary, sentence patterns, characters through a variety of situational conversations, and reading texts to further develop the student's overall proficiency in Chinese. Classroom activities include pronunciation exercises, repetition, role play, small group oral practice, grammatical explanation, character writing exercises, short compositions, oral presentations, reading, going over homework assignments, language games, an introduction to Chinese culture, celebrating Chinese holidays, quizzes, unit tests, and calligraphy. Homework, mostly written exercises, is assigned daily. By the completion of this course, students should be able to read and write approximately 465 characters.
