A class for students who have completed Chinese III successfully at Iolani School or have the equivalent proficiency. The class concentrates on teaching both the language and its culture and moves at a moderate pace. Most of the material for this level is written in characters, and Pinyin is used for pronunciation purposes only. Students continue to advance their speaking and writing proficiency through discussions during class and writing papers at home.
