Reading in, and discussion of, the passages from Vergil's Aeneid in Books I, II, IV and VI, X and XII, as recommended by the AP "Acorn Book," as well as a familarity with the content of Books I through XII, are the goals of the course. Students are expected to recognize the importanceof various literary devices and references from classical history and mythology. Students are expected to master both scansion of, and reading aloud, the verse in dactylic hexameter.
