Kailua Beach
I drive down the sandy road in my parents blue Honda,

cool air hitting my face.

We reach the parking lot, the car shaking lightly,

I am eager to get in the water.

I jump foolishly out of the car, onto dry sharp grass.

The sun cuts violently into my neck,

as I walk slowly up the narrow beach path.

I feel the salty spray of seawater hit my face,

and a rising exhilaration in my body.

I sprint into the warm ocean,

and float gently in the water, relaxing gently in the sun.
