invisible
Alone

a girl sits

in a circle of desks,

surrounded by an empty space between her

and her peers,

none of them daring to sit by her.

As the room fills with loud chatter

of exciting topics,

the latest, juicy gossip

and the giggles and laughs

after whispering of secrets.

the girl is silenced

knowing she would not make sense of her peers,

nor would her peers care.

She is obviously inferior to them,

for she is ignored,

almost invisible to them;

it is something that leaves a pain

that will never go away.

So

alone a girl sits

in a circle of desks

invisible,

lonely,

and

hurt.
