teachers
and homework and the stress of school will
disappear from my thoughts, and won't
return for another three months. As I
frolic with friends through the mall in
slippers and spaghetti straps, texting whomever I
please with no
worry of laboring in the cafeteria, I will
scream and shriek with my friends and there
will be no one to shush us. Or maybe
I will lounge on the couch watching
frivolous TV shows, letting
my brain rot away slowly. I will
eat my favorite foods, not stuck
with just the same bland snack bar items, but
savory pastas and soups and other delectable
treats. I will
stay up until the sun shines, eating
sugary snacks and dancing to loud music to keep me
awake. Friend's
houses will become second homes to me, as most my time
will be spent there. And on
the twenty-first of June, I will be showered with
gifts of the
latest fashions or technology. I will
bask in the sun of my summer happiness. But for
now I must wait, as I make
my brain labor and ears bleed from boring
lectures. As I'm
forced to go to bed by ten p.m. and
shiver in the cold under dress code approved fleece
jackets and
dealing with the drama of nasty rumors and
gossip. So my
advice to you is to not
let your summer go to waste as it
lasts for only a moment. Have fun
while you can before
you go back to boring
lectures, rules, bedtimes and obnoxiously mean
people. Take time
to bask in the summer sun and
summer happiness.
