KEABLES FORTNIGHT

Our Keables Chair Holder for 2012-2013 is Ms. Buffy Hamilton, K-12 media specialist, librarian, and English teacher from Canton, Georgia. Iolani librarian Clarissa Sin nominated Ms. Hamilton. Hamilton will share her ideas about integrating digital tools in the curriculum and help define research skills. She is an advocate for the “unquiet library.” Her residency is January 28 through February 8, 2013.

Hamilton has garnered state and national awards for her work creating library services that are relevant in an age of instant information. She is an advocate for “the unquiet library.”   Hamilton says in her video, What Kind of Teacher Are You? that “a participatory model is scalable to any subject area or age group.”  Hamilton goals are to promote life-long learning and “a sustained delight in books and research.”
