An Exciting Adventure to the Town

I'll never forget my first visit to the town. Since my father works the land for the Lord Highsmith, we've never needed to go to town. But one day, my father decided to take me there. I couldn't believe what I saw. The village men were wearing heavy coats over their clothes. They looked to be merchants. The smell of the air was quite rancid. It seemed to me as if there were dead rats all around. But something else caught my attention. I saw people throwing their trash out of their windows onto the roads. How disgusting is that? The walls were shabby and needed more paint. That place was so unsanitary, I know I'll never want to live there.

As we walked through the town we saw small stores selling the basic needs of a person. They were selling clothes and shoes and food, so many different things. Beyond all the bad things there, there was the glorious castle. My father would always tell me about the castle and now I finally got to see it. This was a once in a life-time opportunity. I've been waiting all my life to see this castle.

I could see the keep, which is where the king and his family would sleep. I scanned the perimeter of the castle and looked at each brick individually. There were so many bricks I wasn't able to count them all. There were also knights on horses guarding the portcullis. I wished I could be a knight guarding the castle someday, but I know that it's only a dream. For only nobles can become knights. But I just keep wishing. The visit to the town was so different for me. Although it was a new and exciting place, I never want to go there again.
