King Arthur was valiant and smart,
he was very bold and brave.
To no one was he unjust and unfair,
and to many their lands he gave.
Everyone who lived in his kingdom,
knew they could gain his aid.
Whenever in need of help,
to him and his armies they bade.
Many adventures he had,
one having death come near.
Gaining Excalibur the sword,
and meeting Lady Guinevere.
During battles and wars,
King Arthur was noble and strong.
The people who saw the battles,
made up a poem and song.
King Arthur was never defeated,
not one was better than him.
King Pellinore who was defeated,
no longer hung shields from tree limbs.
Merlin the sorcerer was helpful,
once saving King Arthur from defeat.
Telling him of the Round Table,
and not rushing to make it complete.
Marrying Lady Guinevere,
gaining the gift of the Round Table.
One surprising thing of the table,
was the seat given for the knight of Sable.
The seat of peril was filled,
finally by Sir Gallahad.
King Arthur's glory days had past,
and this made the people sad.
