Guild Workers
Guild working was an important part of medieval life. Guilds were groups of people that banned together to protect their store of business. They wanted to make sure that they wouldn't lose business because other businesses were selling the same things for lower and better prices. So they paid the lord for him to sign a charter to stop things as big as other businesses or fix things as small a window sign. The guild workers were the descendants of peasants. After a while, guild workers started to get more power because the peasants on the farms all went to the cities to start a better life. As the time went on the guild workers became more powerful because there were more of them. They became richer and richer. One of the more illustrious guilds was the jewelry guild. The nobles bought the jewelry. They were decoration for the nobles. The guilds wanted to ensure quality to avoid them the embarrassment of being dragged through the streets.
