You may think that the Middle Ages
were just a lot of fun,
But the truth that you may not believe
is that most of the time there was none.
In 1500 there was a plague
that spread throughout the land.
Half of the population was taken by it
now wouldn't you call that bad?
Living conditions were almost unlivable
personal hygiene was non-existent.
Especially when it came to bathing,
people were not consistent.
Streets were covered in dirt and grime
no one bothered to clean them
If they were around in our day and age,
they would surely be condemned.
In the Medieval times there were many wars,
the most well known, the Crusades
Crusaders came from mostly France
they fought on horseback with blades.
Castles were not built for comfort,
but built for safety from others.
If you had land, anyone would attack
even your very own brothers.
Back then women were treated badly
in fact, not any better than dirt.
But women back then had to be tough,
they didn't show their hurt.
So now you see why I'm so glad
that the Middle Ages were before my time.
If they lasted any longer,
I'd have to make a longer rhyme.
