King Arthur and Lady Guinevere

After being injured in a fight with the Sable Knight

King Arthur rested and slowed his pace,

Then came a beautiful Lady Guinevere to help

and Arthur would never forget her face.

Later, when King Arthur was fine,

he received bad news from another fine king,

King Ryence threatened King Leodegrance

who demanded all and everything.

King Arthur prepared to go into battle

for Ryence threatened his fair lady

Arthur knew he wanted to fight in her honor

so he took his court to Leodegrance's bailey.

Then, because his love was undying

he had Merlin make him a way to see

his love, the women he held so dear

so Merlin made him tend her tree.

The king worked as a gardener's boy

for the chance to see his love

while she was looking very fine

in her chamber's high above.

Now Arthur was prepared to fight

Duke Mordaunt for her delicate hand

so he dressed all in white

and received her pearls as he planned.

Then he traveled off to battle

the unchivalrous, boastful duke

Arthur quickly won the battle

but the duke called it a fluke.

Later the duke gathered his allies

and challenged Arthur, bold and brave

Arthur and his allies accepted

and Arthur slayed that knave.

Then Arthur revealed himself to Guinevere

they found they shared a great love

they were quickly married

and reigned as king and queen above.
