FLL

FIRST LEGO League, or FLL, is a middle school program for students interested in robotics. Teams must research a problem specific to the year's challenge. The 2008 challenge was called Climate Connections. Teams researched a variety of problems in our world that have to do with climate topics from Ocean Acidification to water displacement. Another part of the challenge is to complete missions on a board. This year's game had missions such as delivering a polar bear to a research area, or elevating a house so it will be safe from sea level rise. FIRST LEGO League was started from a partnership between FIRST founder Dean Kamen, and the LEGO Group's Kield Kirk Kristiansen in 1998.
